Cell Phones

    We would use cell phones in the Congo to communicate with the U.S. if we could because they are much lighter and much cheaper.  The fact is we can't talk with cell phones because there are no cell towers in that part of the world.  For cell phones to work there needs to be towers around where the cell phones are being used.  The cell phone links to the cell tower and then the cell tower boosts the power from the cell tower to the satellites.  From what the people that are going with us have said Satellite phones are about the only thing that will straight to a satellite.
